Does it not amount to foolishness on their part, one should think, but this people, they thrive on lies and that studied sense of finesse cum diplomacy that would make you believe they have your interest at hand.

Many people have had all shades of frustrations in the hands of these two sets of people. I once commissioned an Aba-based tailor who fancied himself a designer to make me a beautiful African suit. He insisted I pay upfront as the suit would be ready in two weeks. I had a wedding in Abuja in a month’s time. So two weeks is enough. After two weeks, I got tired of wasting resources calling him on phone to speed up things. At a point he stopped answering my calls and was rude to me the time he finally finished with the tailoring of my African suit. A beautiful sight and design nevertheless!

I had already gone for the Abuja wedding and came back before this tailor delivered. I licked my wounded pride in peace. And there the relationship died.

From my mom I learnt that carpenters are as slippery as okro like that is what they shower with. Tufiakwa! Up till today, this particular carpenter is yet to deliver on the kitchen cabinet my mom paid substantially in advance for. I misplaced his telephone number else I would’ve been on him to cough out the advance payment made to him or at least deliver on deal arrived at.
